Storm Water Management

New Federal Stormwater Management regulations require Clay Township to apply for a National Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit to discharge stormwater from our Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4).  Under these regulations, Clay Township is required to control and minimize stormwater runoff impacts resulting from development.  The regulations require stormwater runoff from new land development to be infiltrated and detained on-site in an effort to replenish groundwater aquifers, improve water quality and regulate the peak stormwater discharges from the development site.
